In this video, we’re revisiting the AMD R5 1600 AF, the AMD Athlon 3000G (stock and overclocked), and about a dozen other CPUs in our new benchmarks. Our focus is on looking at the modern budget-class, sub-$100 CPUs, with a goal of narrowing-in on what’s the best value CPU under $100 for a gaming PC. Part of this included buying an Intel Core i3-9100F, which we hadn’t formally tested prior to this benchmark. We’re also obviously preparing for the AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X CPUs in the R3 family, which will be launching posthaste. Those will shuffle the stack a bit, with the 3100 at $100 (in theory). More on that soon. In the meantime, this helps recap the best options currently out, and then we’d advise you check back for the R3 content immediately after.
