Hey Gamemasters, this is the brief history on how the PlayStation 3 “The Middle Man” came to be and how it impacted the game industry from 2006-2017. It was another leap in the PS3 technology with improved graphics going from less detailed, more stylized graphics to more detailed, more real graphics for most games. At this time, first-person shooters started to get more popular with games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, and SOCOM along with them having knockoff clones from many game development studios. Many of the first-person shooter games outside of the main ones were either discontinued or forgotten in the gaming industry. There was also a gritty tone that came along with the PlayStation 3 aesthetic with narrative-driven games and hack-and-slash games coming more and more on the scene. The PlayStation 3 console looks bland on the surface but represents a jump in technology with an inserted Blu-Ray Disc player and have more features implemented for players to have the best experience. The console had a disastrous launch and was a mixed bag during its whole lifespan while at the same time; it pushed gaming to new levels and opened new doors to how games were made.
